科班尖子生拍的烂片总还是比业余导演拍的烂片高明百倍的，至少还有些大卫.芬奇、达伦.阿伦诺夫斯基的影子在里面。但程耳电影的短板也完全暴露出来了，叙事技巧虽然高超但立意和主题深度太过平庸，本片如果着眼于一个放下屠刀的恶人如何想做一个平庸的善良人、又纠结于自我救赎与以掩饰恶行之中的细节，而不是大段大段背台词，效果要好许多。
